Florida - The sunshine state

Rushed to the Philly airport Friday evening as I had a flight to catch to Orlando and of course I was excited about this long sought vacation. Pr had traveled a week earlier as she had more days to spare for her vacation. It would definitely be fun as I would be meeting Am & Sh after a long time. Hr, Vr, Pl & Vrs could not make it but whatever be the reason for it, I would have never accepted it. It is always about whether you really want to do things or not and it is never about the reasons we give to survive the day.

At Orlando I exited at Terminal A only to get critical acclaims from Sh that I should have come out from Terminal B. It obviously shows, the airport wasn't friendly enough to guide me to the right exit. Read this article on a funny note & not as one who is complaining.  It was a long Friday as Am & Sh never sleep early & I didn't want to miss out on any conversation. After a round of Thai Massage where I was the masseur, went to bed only to be woken up at 7 AM due to habit. My body hardly got any sleep & it was still crying for more rest. As I could not give it any more rest, I as well took a shower & got ready. This gave me the advantage to catch up on my daily sadhana & it was peaceful. After all Master Choa's techniques are mind blowing!!

How could I miss the Disney downtown that we visited the previous night & had some amazing ghirardelli icecream. The walk was not part that I would generally enjoy but it was definitely different to the routine work of ours.

Saturday around Noon we started off on our 4 hour drive to Miami. Right at the start, we had a quick pit stop to have a look at Sh's new house & to pick up something for Lunch. And mind it, both the house & the lunch were great. We had a great drive & reached Miami early evening. The babes, booty & the beach were just as they show in the movies!! Beach is something that I always enjoy as the salt water has a great cleansing effect.

We hanged around at some of the most happening streets of Miami and it was a nice experience as I would only like to watch such places as a spectator & not as a person who indulges in it. As I kinda always like my silence & inner peace. We were thinking of going in to the disc but my body started asking for some deep rest. So we asked Am & Sh to have fun & and asked them to take their time. Pr & I came back to the car to give the body some rest as we had slept very little the prev night.

Post midnight we drove down to our accommodation in Islamorada & thought of catching up on the all day activity in key west. We slept through this only to realize we were too late to catch up on the all day activities. So we selected only a few that really mattered & did snorkeling & para gliding. This ended up as a better deal as the rest is something we would have probably not enjoyed & we would have got very little time on the stuff we would have enjoyed. All in all key west was fun & we got back to our accommodation late in the night.

Monday morning was more laid back & relaxed as our plans were only to get back to Orlando and we were sure to take a lot of breaks in between. As I caught up with my day's sadhana in the beach of the resort we stayed at with my legs immersed in the Atlantic ocean, it gave me a great sense of joy connecting to my true self. It was funny in between the practice when I happened to open my eyes I was surprised to see Sh staring at me like, 'What is this guy really up to?'.

On the way back we stopped over at Miami to catch the glimpse of the hyped up place & we had a great half hour of jet ski. Back from Miami we stopped for a late lunch at a vegetarian restaurant run by West Indians & it was fun interacting with them. Back to Orlando for dinner at Sh's place & definitely the couple were great hosts or might have been that we were great Guests. :) And we were guests who left.

The next morning, Am dropped us back to the Orlando airport only to realize we had missed the boarding by few minutes. Never mind, the airlines booked us in the next flight 2 hours later and it was time to catch up on some sleep again. It was embarrassing when Pr told me I was snoring away to glory in the departure terminal. The pilots probably wondered "Are we really gonna fly him?".

One great take away for Pr - She had started to realize how much she can enjoy in water if she lets go of the fear towards it.

Did I dream 2 days? A return trip to Kodchadri

The missing days: April 2nd Night (Thursday) TO April 5th Morning (Sunday)

Hurray!! nother bright day, but I had woken up with a heavy head. Thoughts were filled with the dreams I had. Picked up the morning daily and relaxed on the water closet. Tricks the Politicians play always fill the front page I thought. But the item that caught my attention wasn’t any news; it was the news paper, “The Sunday Times”. It was the morning of the 5th April 09, a Sunday.

Do the days go missing? It was the night of 2nd April when i went to bed. The heaviness in the head had an answer. Looked like the dreams could fill the gap in days that I woke up with. Digging into my dreams, I saw…

The thought flash: Udupi Krishna Temple

Sumptuous free dinner it was on a plantain leaf that got our stomach, full.

Few hours earlier, sometime late in the evening on a Saturday, I along with 20 others, were running on the road towards the temple. Krishna was out there in the sanctum sanctorum waiting for our visit. We had to peep through the hole which was supposedly created by Krishna himself for his devotee Kanakadas.

The thought flash: Malpe Beach

Earlier that evening, with a bruised left knee, I could only be an audience to the show on the beach. Helping each other to dive in the sea backwards, they seem to be having a gala time.

The warm sea water, the whitish sand, the sea waves & the beautiful setting sun in the horizon made Malpe beach a great place to enjoy the evening.

The thought flash: Trekking down Kodachadri

Saturday morning, post breakfast, we started trekking down. The down trek seemed to be pretty easy, but this would have been a lot easier if the Sun wasn’t out. It was a 9 Km down trek. A little after half way, it was time for us to take bath in the waterfall that we had come across. Getting into the water after sweating badly always feels like heaven.

It was only around 2pm, post noon that we reached our bus. The fruit treat that we had was very soothing. The naughty bananas, I mean naati bananas were tasty as ever.

The thought flash: Sunrise @ Kodachadri

The voice of somebody, “Guys, its time to leave. Wake up!!”

It was 5 on a Saturday morning when we got out of our tents. It was a short trek to the sun rise point. The upper end of the clouds looked no different from the lower end. The sun rose showing its beautiful colors at different stages. From the peak we could see the beauty of the Western Ghats.

From here, we trekked to the Kodachadri peak (Shankaracharya temple) then to a mini cave and then back to our Kodachadri base for breakfast.

The thought flash: Tent stay

Though this being my second tent stay (Friday night), was exciting for its very own reasons. Sleeping at one end of the tent on a chilly night with the sound of a windmill right above you was a great experience. With this beautiful ambiance, I was excited when I went to bed. And when I got up, my sinus was equally excited. :)

The thought flash: Trekking up Kodachadri

Bravo, for deciding on an evening/night trek. A 3 hour trek under the sun would have taxed our body.

The thought flash: Kollur Mookambike

Friday morning, Post breakfast, a barefoot pilgrim in his shorts was asked to come back with his legs covered. Post darshana, we had lunch at the temple.

Was this Clairvoyance and not a dream?
