Did I dream 2 days? A return trip to Kodchadri

The missing days: April 2nd Night (Thursday) TO April 5th Morning (Sunday)

Hurray!! nother bright day, but I had woken up with a heavy head. Thoughts were filled with the dreams I had. Picked up the morning daily and relaxed on the water closet. Tricks the Politicians play always fill the front page I thought. But the item that caught my attention wasn’t any news; it was the news paper, “The Sunday Times”. It was the morning of the 5th April 09, a Sunday.

Do the days go missing? It was the night of 2nd April when i went to bed. The heaviness in the head had an answer. Looked like the dreams could fill the gap in days that I woke up with. Digging into my dreams, I saw…

The thought flash: Udupi Krishna Temple

Sumptuous free dinner it was on a plantain leaf that got our stomach, full.

Few hours earlier, sometime late in the evening on a Saturday, I along with 20 others, were running on the road towards the temple. Krishna was out there in the sanctum sanctorum waiting for our visit. We had to peep through the hole which was supposedly created by Krishna himself for his devotee Kanakadas.

The thought flash: Malpe Beach

Earlier that evening, with a bruised left knee, I could only be an audience to the show on the beach. Helping each other to dive in the sea backwards, they seem to be having a gala time.

The warm sea water, the whitish sand, the sea waves & the beautiful setting sun in the horizon made Malpe beach a great place to enjoy the evening.

The thought flash: Trekking down Kodachadri

Saturday morning, post breakfast, we started trekking down. The down trek seemed to be pretty easy, but this would have been a lot easier if the Sun wasn’t out. It was a 9 Km down trek. A little after half way, it was time for us to take bath in the waterfall that we had come across. Getting into the water after sweating badly always feels like heaven.

It was only around 2pm, post noon that we reached our bus. The fruit treat that we had was very soothing. The naughty bananas, I mean naati bananas were tasty as ever.

The thought flash: Sunrise @ Kodachadri

The voice of somebody, “Guys, its time to leave. Wake up!!”

It was 5 on a Saturday morning when we got out of our tents. It was a short trek to the sun rise point. The upper end of the clouds looked no different from the lower end. The sun rose showing its beautiful colors at different stages. From the peak we could see the beauty of the Western Ghats.

From here, we trekked to the Kodachadri peak (Shankaracharya temple) then to a mini cave and then back to our Kodachadri base for breakfast.

The thought flash: Tent stay

Though this being my second tent stay (Friday night), was exciting for its very own reasons. Sleeping at one end of the tent on a chilly night with the sound of a windmill right above you was a great experience. With this beautiful ambiance, I was excited when I went to bed. And when I got up, my sinus was equally excited. :)

The thought flash: Trekking up Kodachadri

Bravo, for deciding on an evening/night trek. A 3 hour trek under the sun would have taxed our body.

The thought flash: Kollur Mookambike

Friday morning, Post breakfast, a barefoot pilgrim in his shorts was asked to come back with his legs covered. Post darshana, we had lunch at the temple.

Was this Clairvoyance and not a dream?
